World Series of Poker 2020 postponed.

The biggest news last week was the postponement of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2020. although it was not a surprise to a lot of poker players. Rumors have been circulating about the event however it was finally put to rest by an announcement on their official website.

WSOP is the biggest and most prestigious poker tournament in the world. but the postponement is just one more added to the list of events that have been affected by the pandemic.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart had this to say

“We are committed to running the World Series of Poker this year but need additional time to proceed on our traditional scale while prioritizing guest and staff well-being,” 

He also added

“In the interim, official WSOP competitions are expected to be played online this summer, and we will soon announce details of an expanded series of tournaments to be played on WSOP.com and through partnership with international operators, which will allow players to chase WSOP glory from their homes.”

World Poker Tour (WPT) Cambodia Main Tour Postponed

Another canceled tour that cames as a surprise is the cancellation of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Cambodia. It was scheduled for July 15-28, 2020. as early as last week. The World Poker Tour(WPT) Cambodian partner, the Connaissance Management has elected to postpone the event originally scheduled to take place at NagaWorld.

It might have considered the international market as players have to book in advance. However, the next event planned in Asia-Pacific to be WPTDeepStacks Korea at Paradise City, September 15 to 22. details have yet to be released on the status of this event.

Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Schedule 2020

The Spring Championship of Online Poker(SCOOP) is scheduled to start this week. the full schedule is available online and just click the image to check the full schedule.

SCOOP is one of the biggest online tournament of Pokerstars. 

It is one of PokerStar’s most anticipated online tournament and the schedule is packed with guarantees totaling 85 million.

Every single day of the SCOOP has total guarantees of at least $1.5 million, with the final Sunday alone features a $22 million guarantee.

One of the reasons The Main Event of SCOOP is the crowd drawer is that it has been one of the best in paying out some of the biggest prizes in online poker.

There will be three buy-in levels, starting at $109 and escalating to $1,050 and then $10,300 for the high-stakes edition.
